UAA COVID-19 Information

In response to the COVID-19 global pandemic, UAA has taken steps to protect the health and safety of our campus community. The fall 2020 semester will occur primarily via alternate course delivery, remote work and controlled access to campus facilities. A mandatory mask policy will be in effect at all UAA campuses.

The UAA Student Health and Counseling Center remains open at this time to serve UAA students. For information about COVID-19 symptoms and current health recommendations, visit the CDC website and the Alaska Department of Health and Social Services.

Playing a vital role in Alaska's pandemic response

After earning his degree last fall, and with plans to continue his science education at UAA, Tyler Fox started work early this year as a research technician in UAA’s brand new AIMS Core Facility. He could never have foreseen that by the time the lab opened in March, he would be playing an important role in Alaska’s response to a global pandemic.

The COVID-19 pandemic has altered everyday life and impacted the economy in unprecedented ways. In response, UAA developed a suite of Fast Track Career Certificates to help Alaskans retool quickly and acquire new skills to reenter the workforce or energize their current career.

While much of UAA's campus pivoted quickly to alternate course delivery and working remotely, the UAA/APU Consortium Library remains open to all UAA students, faculty and staff who can access the library with their WOLFcard.

Citing the health and safety of student-athletes as the overriding concern, the Great Northwest Athletic Conference CEO Board voted unanimously to suspend all intercollegiate athletics competition through Nov. 30 due to COVID-19.
